Winter
Winter sports
The cold weather and snow are a reason for many people to diversify their daily routine with a trip to the mountains. Popular destinations include first-class mountain resorts such as Bansko, Borovets, and Pamporovo, but you will also find much smaller and cosier winter resorts such as Dobrinishte and Chepelare, for example. They offer excellent facilities for extreme winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and mountaineering. Our resorts also feature renowned ski schools, ski slopes of varying difficulty, and excellent lifts and drag lifts.
When it comes to mountaineering, the most famous spots in Bulgaria are in the Rila Mountains, where there are 272 different routes. Visitors to Sofia can also enjoy winter sports, as the gondola lift is only a few minutes' drive from the city center.
SPA Tourism
Spa tourism is another highly sought-after, well-established and desirable form of tourism for visitors to our country! It is not just for one season, but is suitable for any time of the year. Demand for spa tourism in Bulgaria has grown threefold over the last five years. Spa tourism is developing in a positive direction. There are 25 spa destinations in Bulgaria, which are sources of mineral waters with different properties used for balneotherapy purposes and guarantee complete recovery, improved health, and simply a complete rest for the mind and body. Examples of such centers are Velingrad (the spa capital of the Balkan Peninsula), Sandanski (the sunniest city in Bulgaria), Devin, and Hisarya.
Bulgaria has one of the greatest varieties of mineral waters in the world, and this should not be underestimated! They are suitable for treating people suffering from certain illnesses, as well as for perfectly healthy tourists who want to relax and pamper their senses.
A few other similar Bulgarian destinations that are worth visiting and offer excellent value for money are Kostenets, Kyustendil, Varshets, Banya, Separeva Banya, Berkovitsa, Momina Prohod, and the village of Rakito. The latter is suitable for people suffering from asthma and lung diseases. Momin Prohod, on the other hand, has nine mineral springs. The water there relieves and treats diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems and various allergies.

Summer is the time when everyone wants to have fun, travel, "discover" themselves, and experiment. In Bulgaria, you will find wonderful opportunities to do just that!
SPA Tourism
Not only is summer a wonderful time for spa relaxation, but it can also be combined with mountain tourism.
Extreme tourism
People's desire for strong emotions, discovery, and diverse entertainment is satisfied thanks to the various types of extreme tourism offered in our country.
From mountain sports We offer: Downhill biking is one of the most extreme ways to ride. It involves hurtling down a specific route at very high speed, which is extremely dangerous but sought after by adrenaline junkies.
Cross-country is traversing various terrains with ascents,

Parallel slalom is a sport in which up to four competitors race side by side on a specially designed course. Freeriding (or free descent) can follow a pre-selected route or simply follow the directions freely. Trial is another discipline, but it requires special skills. It involves overcoming various obstacles, with the goal being for the cyclist not to touch the ground with their feet or step on it.
It's time for water extreme sportsHere you can enjoy water skiing, windsurfing, surfing, diving, rafting, and canoeing. Our large Black Sea resorts offer various forms of professionally organized water sports. If you want to enjoy rafting, good conditions are provided by the Struma River and the Kresna Gorge area, as well as the Arda, Veleka, Beli, and Cherni Vit rivers. Canoeing and kayaking can be enjoyed on the Iskar and Struma rivers.
Fromair extreme sports In Bulgaria, you will find paragliding, parachuting, parasailing, and bungee jumping. The picturesque mountain town of Sopot, for example, is the ideal place for paragliding, with a number of international competitions held there. The conditions there are also suitable for zorbing. Bungee jumping is practiced in many places, so you have a wide choice of different jumps. One of the most challenging places for this jump is the bridge over the Vitiya Pass, which is 120 m high.
Maritime (Sea) tourism
This form of tourism is naturally one of the most popular and widespread in our country, and we know that we are famous for it. We have beautiful beaches that cater to everyone's tastes – both wild and deserted, as well as populated with many people and establishments that breathe even more life into this picture. Small and large – the availability of choice is a prerequisite for many to continue to rely on Bulgaria for their summer seaside vacation. Our sea waters do not have strong currents or dangerous animal and plant species. Our Black Sea resorts offer tourists hotel complexes with excellent value for money, luxury hotels, bungalows, villas, and apartments, providing a variety of opportunities for family vacations, true relaxation, sports, parties, and fun. It is up to you to decide what type of seaside vacation you prefer, and then you can easily choose a resort where you will find everything you are looking for.
Are you wondering what else we offer? Cycling and horse riding, photography and ecotourism, visits to natural, architectural, and cultural landmarks, and we also have many well-developed hiking trails. Corn, pretzel, and ice cream vendors are a common sight on the Black Sea coast—they can entertain tourists for hours, singing various catchy songs and mentioning the products they offer. There are more than 70 beaches in Bulgaria. We have both steep and gentle slopes, and our water is ideal for swimming due to its low salinity.
We have no shortage of Black Sea lakes – Arkutino, Atanasovsko Lake, Balchik Tuzla, Beloslavsko Lake, Burgas Lake, Varna Lake, etc., or islands – St. Anastasia, St. Peter, St. Kirik and Julita, St. Thomas. Our lakes – lagoons and estuaries – are a refuge for a huge variety of rare plants and animals, especially birds. Some of them have deposits of healing mud, which is another reason why Bulgaria is among the top countries in Europe in terms of the richness of its balneological resources.
If you are a family looking for peace and quiet and a relaxing vacation, then we recommend visiting St. St. Constantine and Helena, Albena, Riviera, Obzor, or Duni, for example. If you are a young group looking for exciting experiences and new entertainment, then the resorts of Sunny Beach, Golden Sands, Kiten, Primorsko, and Lozenets are for you, which are famous for their many bars, discos, and various ways to have fun and enjoy an active vacation.
Festival tourism – a real experience for our guests throughout the year
